Especificações da Epson WorkForce DS-30

The product that stands out as a viable mobile office component is the Epson WorkForce DS-30. Now a bit dated and not unlike the Fujitsu ScanSnap, the DS-30 is a portable scanner designed for professionals on the go. The scanner is portable, and the foot is its number one selling point. It is easy to carry by simply tossing it into one’s backpack. It feels well-protected and should withstand most hardware manhandling or simple office tumbles. The DS-30 scans to PDF or JPEG and, as such, is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS.

The unit allows scanning and sending of documents while visiting clients or working remotely, making scanning a valuable component of one’s work. From the performance perspective, the Epson WorkForce DS-30 is relatively straightforward. The scanner works with just about any size of paper that one can feed it. The 600 dpi resolution ensures that the text and the images are readable. One cannot see anything beyond the fairly standard scanning that one would expect from a scanner. The negative aspect is that the scanner can only go through one piece of paper at a time.

In addition, the DS-30 is slow in this regard, making it an unlikely candidate for significant professional scanning purposes. The WorkForce DS-30 is no replacement for stationary scanners that can handle hundreds or thousands of pages per day, so such scanners are often called workhorses. The price is reasonable for the product, considering its portability and secondary market, which is one step above some gimmick that this kind of hardware could serve.
